Installing Symbol for Windows on a computer network
Symbol for Windows gives you excellent performance on a computer network. Choose your own set of modules and symbol libraries and let multiple users work with them at the same time, saving money on licence fees as well!

For the system manager:
Requirements for a network installation
The Server that has to give out and manage the licence has to
- be allowed to run the Windows-NT service HcNetLicSvc.exe, made by Handicom
- read an encrypted lincence file xxxxxxx.NLF, made by Handicom, when (re)booting.
- read a configuration file HcNetLic.CFG with the system manager's preferences
- listen to a port, default 13013, for client-PC requests and give out the licence-leases for a certain amount of time, if available.
Client PC's have to be equipped with
- an entry in the registry with the servername-of-IP and the portnumber
- a TCP/IP network with the possibility to set up a connection with the server through the portnumber mentioned above
- Symbol for Windows version 2.3 or above.
